Bus Transfers To and From Montego Bay Airport

Buses are one of the most common transportation modes in Jamaica. Passengers arriving at Sangster International Airport may choose to take the bus to get to their destinations.

The airport is serviced by three types of buses, namely, Municipal Buses, Knutsford Express, and Mini-Buses.

Knutsford Express buses are comfortable, spacious, and have air conditioning. Most passengers with lots of bags who prefer to take the bus chose this option.

Knutsford Express Routes include Montego Bay to Kingston at $19, Montego Bay to Ocho Rios at $14, and Montego Bay to Negril route at $12.

Mini-buses serve the whole island. Many refer to mini-buses as coasters. The fare will depend on the destination. Passengers will have to wait for the minibus to be full before getting on the road.

As a result, it can be a little crowded.

Montego Bay Metro Company Ltd - Municipal Buses

Municipal buses are regulated by Montego Bay Metro Company Ltd. All municipal buses are painted yellow and stop only at designated bus stops.

Fare varies according to the type of passenger. Senior citizens have a lower rate compared to the regular fare. Still, the highest fare is less than a dollar.

Municipal Bus routes include Greenwood to City Center, Sandy Bay to City Center, and Cambridge to City Center.

Jamaica Urban Transit Company Limited (JUTC) Public Buses

Jamaica has two types of public buses. The Municipal Buses serve Montego Bay. The other is Jamaica Urban Transit Company Limited or JUTC Public Buses which serve Kingston.

Kingston is about 179 kilometers from Montego Bay. It will take 4 to 5 hours of travel.
